    Tynwald Presidency job attracts Island politicians

    The Chief Minister faces competition from the Speaker of the House of Keys as they have both announced they want to stand for the post of President of Tynwald.

    The Chief Minister faces competition from the Speaker of the House of Keys as they have both announced they want to stand for the post of President of Tynwald.

    Chief Minister Tony Brown and Speaker of the House of Keys Steve Rodan both have put themselves forward since Noel Cringle, who held the position for 11 years, is standing down.

    They would be responsible for order and conduct of business in Tynwald and the Legislative Council.

    The election to fill the position is at the Tynwald sitting on Tuesday 12th July.
