A UK man banned from the roads was found almost twice the drink-drive limit speeding on the Island just days later.
Christopher John Cotton of London Road in Brentford appeared before High Bailiff Jayne Hughes at Douglas Courthouse.
The 43 year old admitted drink-driving and driving whilst disqualified on Strang Road in Douglas on November 22.
Prosecutor Hazel Carroon told the hearing police stopped Cotton's Peugeot just before 1pm when they spotted him doing 33mph in a 20 zone.
Checks showed he'd been banned by a court in Portsmouth just four days earlier, and he told officers he was visiting the Island for a family member's funeral.
Noting he had a previous conviction for drink-driving, Mrs Hughes banned him from the roads for five years and ordered him to pay costs of £125.
She also fined him £2,200 and ordered him to pay immediately or serve 120 days in jail.
