Union to begin industrial action later this month

Another union representing teachers on Island will begin industrial action later this month.

The NASUWT has confirmed it will start action short of a strike on Monday, February 24, but insists the action will not affect childrens learning and pupils will continue to be taught as normal.

The organisation is joining the NAHT and ASCL unions in the action which is part of an ongoing dispute with the Department of Education, Sport & Culture over pay, pensions and conditions of service.

Education Minister, Graham Cregeen MHK, has previously insisted his 'door is always open' for negotiations to bring an end to the disagreement.
