The Department of Infrastructure says two 30-tonne piles are now in place as it upgrades Douglas harbour.
The project will see improvements made to the King Edward VII pier to accommodate the new Manxman ferry.
The piles, each measuring 30 metres long, have been sunk into the sea bed and concreted in place.
Work continues on fenders and the pier wall.
