A local vets has stopped taking new clients due to staff shortages and increased demand.

The Arg Beiyn practice said since lockdown there has been a surge in the number of pet owners on the island.

That, coupled with a shortage of vets, has forced a change in services.

The practice said it is currently unable to register new clients but will try to provide emergency treatment wherever possible.

A spokesman added that, at the moment, they are unable to provide 'non-essential.' animal health certificates for travel.

Arg Beiyn hopes these changes will be temporary and has thanked clients for understanding.
