Viking brooches on display at Manx Museum

Two Viking brooches, discovered on the Island, are now on display in the Manx Museum.

The highly decorated oval brooches are from around AD 900-950, and were discovered in 2018 by metal detectorists John Crowe and Craig Evans.

Manx National Heritage commissioned an archaeological excavation of the area, where a glass bead and buckle were also found.

The newly conserved brooches are on display in the Viking Gallery in the Manx Museum, alongside other artefacts from the Viking Age on the Isle of Man.
