Whitelegg inspired to stand after gender comments

An Ayre and Michael election candidate says she feels inspired to run because of the lack of women in politics.

Louise Whitelegg lives in the constituency and says she's declared for September's race after comments made by Lord Lisvane concerning the gender imbalance in Tynwald.

She says she will not 'shy away from tough decisions' but will instead 'engage with dignity, fairness and compassion'.
