The Manx Wildlife Trust said "don't be too tidy" as messy gardens are great for providing shelter.
It also recommends keeping watering stations, ponds and bird baths topped up.
In addition the group said creating log piles and letting grass grow can provide a welcome shade for animals seeking cover.
