Willaston man admits causing taxi damage

A Willaston man will be sentenced next month after damaging a taxi when he was asked to get out of it.

50-year-old Stephen Dockerill pleaded guilty to the offence during an appearance at Douglas Courthouse last week.

Police were called to Dockerill's home just before 11.30pm on January 6th after a request for help from a taxi firm.

The driver had attempted to assist Dockerill and his friend - who were both described as 'drunk' - after picking them up from Pulrose.

However Dockerill got back into the vehicle - after being told to leave he 'yanked' the rear view mirror, cracking the front windscreen in the process.

The taxi had to be taken off the road as a result.

A Social Enquiry Report has been requested before Dockerill is sentenced on February 23rd - he's been bailed until then.
