    Work begins on IoM ferry

Shipbuilders in Korea have started construction work on the Isle of Man's new ferry.

The vessel, which will be more than 130 meters long, is expected to come into service in 2023.

It is being built at the Hyundai Mipo Dockyard in South Korea.

A Steam Packet spokesman said construction got underway after the design process, involving more than 300 detailed drawings, was completed and agreed.

It was announced last year that the ferry would be called Manxman following a survey of 7,500 people.

The vessel will be the third to hold the name in the Steam Packet Company's 190-year history.
