Work gets underway on a street in Douglas later after large hole mysteriously opened up on it.
The defect at the southern end of Castle Mona Avenue was made safe at the weekend but now the Department of Infrastructure wants to investigate the cause of it and make appropriate repairs.
Work will take place between 9am and 4.30pm each day for around one week with a single lane for traffic open around it, but the DOI adds this could close if necessary.
Parking on the affected section - between numbers 14 to 22 and 17 to 28 - will be suspended but walkways for pedestrians will remain open.
