    Yellow weather warning upgraded to Amber

    A weather warning for the Isle of Man has been upgraded from yellow to amber.

    It's in place between 18:00 today (Friday) and 11:00 tomorrow.

    The Isle of Man Met Office said we can expect severe gales and storms with gusts of between 55 and 65 mph.

    A spokesman added: "Further increases through the evening to storm force with gusts 70 to 75mph before veering north by midnight but remaining severe gale force".

    What do weather warning's mean?

    A yellow weather warning is issued when there's a risk of bad weather, some travel delays and a risk of minor damage.

    An amber warning is issued when there's a risk of severe weather impacting on work, schools & travel. Some disruption & damage in places. Risk of injury.
